304-grade stainless steel is a commonly used alloy when fabricating tubes for medical use, food processing, refineries, chemical industries, and more. It is highly resistant to corrosion, high temperatures, and oxidation, and 304-grade stainless steel can be easily bent, cut, end-formed and welded. 304-grade stainless steel is composed of a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, with a maximum of 0.08% carbon.
We also use 316-grade stainless steel tubing to make custom fabricated tubular parts. 316-grade stainless steel contains molybdenum and is substantially more resistant to corrosion than 304-grade stainless steel. In all other machining properties, 304- and 316-grade are identical. 316-grade stainless steel tubing can be ordered direct from our tubing mills as needed for your requirements.
